Both the hull and deck are produced in one piece female molds. Ferro Super Shield™ gelcoat is utilized for all exterior gelcoat finish. The deck has an attractive and functional molded anti-skid surface. The hull and deck design incorporate a substantial box crossbeam and strut to take the forstay and hull loads.

The deck and hull above the water line are composite construction utilizing Core Cell™ foam core and triaxial and biaxial stitched fiberglass, with the exception of the crossbeam and strut which are constructed of solid unidirectional stitched fiberglass. The core is vacuum bagged during the construction process. The hull below the waterline, including deck hardware and chain plate areas, is solid laminate. Vinyester and isophathalic resins are utilized to eliminate moisture penetration of the laminate.

All sub-soles and bulkheads are composite construction utilizing Nida Core™ honeycomb core and biaxial stitched fiberglass. There is no wood utilized in the structural lay-up.
The hull and deck are further reinforced with 360 degree unidirectional laminates in three locations to offer additional structural integrity. All bilge and exposed locker areas are gelcoat finished.
The hull and deck incorporate an external flange that is joined with mechanical fasteners and structural adhesive and the entire hull to deck joint is bonded with biaxial stitched fiberglass on the interior side of the hull for a completely watertight joint. The joint is covered with a high durability PVC rub rail attached securely to the flange with stainless steel fasteners.
The schedule 80 aluminum mast compression post is stepped on the very substantial composite main bulkhead that varies from 4" thick over the bridge deck to 1.5" thick outboard.
All deck hardware is through bolted with structural adhesive and aluminum back up plates incorporated into the laminate. The hull forward includes two water tight bulkheads. The keels incorporate water tight bulkheads fore and aft to form a deep central bilge sump. The hull is designed such that all bilge water drains to the central sump unobstructed. The spade rudders are PVC foam/fiberglass construction with 2" solid stainless steel shafts welded to an internal stainless steel flange.
The interior utilizes IGU (Internal fiberglass unit) components for the head, shower, and galley areas, while all other furniture is hand made with Lite ply™ and a choice of attractive wood veneers. All horizontal surfaces, counter tops and sinks are composite Swantstone™. The soles are a very durable no maintenance simulated teak and holly pressure laminate.
The interior hull sides are covered with a light weight acrylic liner that does not mildew or rot and is very durable and easy to clean. The headliners are vinyl/foam mounted on plywood and are removable for access.
All mechanical/electrical and plumbing systems are designed in accordance with ABYC™ standards utilizing the best materials and equipment available to the marine industry, with the ultimate goal of reducing maintenance to a minimum.
Auxiliary power is provided by twin Volvo™ 2030 diesel engines with integral fiberglass engine beds and sail drives and three blade folding propellers. The raw water intake is initially filtered by the sail drive leg and finally by a raw water strainer. For ease of maintenance all engine fuel is filtered through a central primary Puratec™ fuel filtration system.
The steering system is a Whitlock™ pull/pull mechanical cable system. There are provisions for locking both rudders on center for maintenance with access for adjustment and use of an emergency tiller from on deck. Rudder shafts are enclosed in a fiberglass tube incorporated into a substantial bulkhead. Rudder bearings are watertight no-maintenance Tides Marine™ UHMW plastic.
The custom Paneltronics™ electrical panel provides plenty of breaker space for all 12 volt and 110 volt systems, as well as digital metering for volts and amps. It is easily accessed for maintenance. Standard battery charger is an 80 amp Mastervolt™.
All 110 volt/12 volt electrical wiring is color coded and labeled in accordance with ABYC™ recommendations. The battery system is designed to offer redundancy and flexibility with parallel switching for emergency starting between engine or house banks, as well as isolation for diagnosis.
Underwater thru hulls are non-corrosive Forespar Marelon™ eliminating the need for bonding. The fresh water system utilizes color coded SeaTech™ quick connect water hose, and pressure is supplied with a Jabsco Sensormatic VSD ™ water pump. The water heater is a 10 gallon Isotemp™.
For ease of maintenance the raw water intake for the optional air conditioning, generator, and saltwater wash down is provided through a central Groco Hydromatic™ water filtration system.
Diesel and water tanks are heavily constructed of 3/16" aluminum with baffles fore and aft. Tank external surfaces are epoxy coated for elimination of corrosion and are mounted in accordance with ABYC™ recommendations. Both tanks incorporate electrical level gauges as well as access for manually checking for content level.
Both keel sumps have and auto-electric bilge pump and manual bilge pump, the shower sump is separate from the bilge and has its own auto-electric pump with strainer.
All stanchions, handrails, cleats, opening ports and hatches, locker latches, hinges, chain plates, anchor roller and fuel and water fills are 316 stainless steel. Upper and lower lifelines are vinyl covered stainless steel. All running deck hardware and winches is provided by Harken™.
The deck stepped, single spreader mast is a custom tapered extrusion with welded fittings and Awlgrip™ finish and incorporates two main halyards, jib halyard, flag halyards, provisions for optional spinnaker halyard and winch, and Tides marine Strong™ UHMW low friction sail track. The substantial aluminum boom has welded fittings, Awlgrip™ finish, and includes a unique Boom Basket ™/lazy jack arrangement, 2:1 mainsheet system, single line reefing, 3:1 outhaul, 20:1 Garhauer™ rigid adjustable boom vang, and Dutchman™ boom brake.
Standard sails, manufactured by Doyle sails™ are constructed of heavy dacron fabric, with substantial stitching and reinforcements. The full batten mainsail includes two single line reefing points, tail tale window, and Boom Bag™ acrylic cover. The full batten 100% jib includes a visibility window, downhaul system, lazy jacks, topping lift, Camber Spar™, and acrylic cover.
The cap shrouds and head stay rigging is very substantial 7/16" 1x19 stainless steel wire with swaged ends and includes vinyl anti-chafe covers as well as turnbuckle boots. The spreader diamond is 3/8" 1x19 stainless steel wire, and includes turnbuckle and spreader boots. Chain plates are stainless steel and thru bolted through heavily reinforced solid fiberglass. The forestay chain plate is through bolted through the forward beam of the hull and deck assembly.
All running rigging is color coded Sampson™ braid. Snap shackles include pull tabs, shackles are safety tied , sheet stoppers are labeled, and main halyard stowing clip provided.
